紫綬褒章

玉尾皓平教授は有機金属化学研究の功績により紫綬褒章を受章した。同教授は,これまで,ニッケルやケイ素などの遷移金属および典型元素の特性に着目し,ニッケル触媒クロスカップリング反応による新規炭素-炭素結合形成法の発見,炭素ケイ素結合の過酸化水素酸化によるアルコール合成法の開発,官能性ケイ素アニオン化学の開拓・確立,ケイ素を含む環状化合物シロール類の簡便合成法の開発とエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)素子への応用など,有機合成化学から新機能性物-質科学に亘る幅広い分野の科学技術の発展に多大な貢献をしてきた。これら数々の業績が高く評価されての今回の受章である。
